Rocket made from a Saran Wrap Tube
Unlike so many household tubes, this tube from a roll of Saran Wrap was stiff and seemed suitable for rocketry. Finishing it was lots of work, much more so than a typical glassine finished tube.  Lots of filling and sanding, filling and sanding before this tube was ready.

The fins are off a Mean Machine, and the nosecone was turned on my lathe.  Propulsion is from a pair of 18mm motor mounts.

Although I'm quite proud of the finished product, I won't be using any more of these tubes.  It's satisfying to know I can massage one into a decent rocket, but it's much easier to just buy a decent tube.

The yellow nosecone is a recent addition.  It got a little dinged up so some filling and painting was in order.  The decal is also new.  I got it from Tango Papa.
