I received this hand tossed glider from rocket.aero as a free kit when I
bought a Little Joe CD.
Desiring to include it in the rocketry theme, I decided to convert it
to a rocket glider. Since it's a small plane, MicroMaxx motors
are a good fit. I added a motor pod from MicroMaxx motor tubing
and fashioned a nosecone for it, then sanded some down pitch into the
forward airframe and glued the pod in place.
The vertical stab was moved to the bottom side, and the airframe aft of
the motor pod was cut down some to clear the motor exhaust.
A MicroMaxx sized launch lug was mounted below and aft of the motor pod
as shown in the bottom pic.
Dong the conversion was an interesting exercise in rocketry and
aero-modeling.
