Midgets
Here's a whole bunch of Midgets.  From a K-40 original (circa 1969) to a 6" upscale, there are quite a few.

I love flying multi-stage rockets, and the K-40 original below was my first.  I can't fly often enough, and the Midget has become my theme rocket.  The two largest ones at right are only single stage versions, but there are some large 2-stagers to come.

The pic is image-mapped, so click on a rocket for more info.

More Midgets
Since the picture above was taken, I've wrecked a few and built several more.

Baby Midget

Having built all upscales, I wanted to do a downscale and retain the staging ability.  While the Min Brute Midget (Estes 0840) is a BT-20 based variant, it's not a true downscale since it maintains the length of the origina.

The Baby Midget is a BT-20 based downscale of the original K-40 Midget.

Midget552

The Midget552 is a simplified version of an earlier BT-55 based upscale shown here.  In the earlier case, the booster had scale diameter, and the rocket included a staging coupler and vents for gap staging.  The 552 uses a single BT-20 for the booster forgoing scale, and employs tape-together staging.  It's much lighter in the back end and has turned out to be a very frequent flier for me.

Thridget80
Also called Midget80, this upscale was built for the ExtremeBP event held in conjunction with the DARS launch in November of 2006.  It stages 3 24mm boosters to 3 24mm sustainers.  3 D's to 3 E's makes for G power

MidgetT35
This rocket was built using Quest T35 tubing and flies on 24mm motors.

MidgetT40
This upscale Midget was bashed from a Quest Big Betty and flies on 24mm motors.
Quidgets
These three upscale Midgets were all built using Quest tubing.

Thridget60
This Midget variant stages three 13mm boosters to three 13mm sustainers.

Thridget70
My original Thridget, this 2.2x upscale stages three 18mm boosters to three 18mm sustainers.

Thridgets
Here's a brief look at all three Thridgets together.

Tiny-Midgets
These MicroMaxx powered Midget downscales are upper-stage-only, but still pretty cool.

Free Kit
The K-40 Midget was a common extra in mail order shipments from Estes back in the 60's.

Here's a scan of an original Free Kit complete with sticker.  Thanks to James Gartrell for kindly giving me this.
